Shadow People

Art, Here is a cartoon I drew about shadow people. I hope you find it humorous.

Strange NM Lights

Strange NM Lights

Earlier this month I attended the White Sands Star Party where over a hundred amateur astronomers set up their telescopes for three nights of observing. As the sun was setting the first night we saw a dimly lit column rising into the air. At first we thought it was a dust devil, but it never moved. As it became fully dark, we realized the column was a pair of bright lights shining straight up into the desert sky. I had the camera pointed toward the NNW. Holloman Air Force Base was far to my right so the lights were not from the air base, and a road atlas shows nothing but open desert in this direction. The illuminated clouds near the top of the picture give clues to the distance and intensity of the lights. I've been puzzling over their purpose. They remind me of the WTC memorial lights that were on display in lower Manhattan for a while. In the picture they are in the direction of the Trinity Site. Could there be a connection with that?

For Keith

For Keith

You're ALL THAT Keith, and our ride wouldn't have been nearly as good if you hadn't been there to take us with you and Art. You'll definitely be missed and noticably gone! We all love ya, man!

Please consider this farewell to Keith for Art's homepage. I think it expresses what a LOT of people have to say.

Poem for Art Bell

I wanted to thank you for your years of service
But I wasn’t quite sure what to do
I thought of sending flowers, or the Canadian Air Force Band
Then decided to write this poem, just for you

2003 is quickly approaching
It will be a year to remember
But not for the months of
February, June, or September

Because on the first of January
“Coast to Coast with Art Bell” disappears
Along with the best talk radio talker
To whom I have listened for many years

I will miss your insight and intellect
I will miss your beautiful voice
I will miss staying up with you every night
I’ll go to bed earlier, I’ll have no choice

I will miss your wisdom and your wit
I will miss your interviewing skills
I’ll miss www.artbell.com
And “Ghost to Ghost” and its accompanying thrills

I’m already an “After Dark” subscriber
And I have purchased the official CD-ROMs
But when you say bye-bye on January 1st
A big part of my life will be gone

For I can’t imagine a night without Art
Without you talking me to sleep each A.M.
Coast to Coast with George Noory is pretty good
But it’s Art Bell of whom I’m a fan

You see Art, no one can ever take your place

Voice of Art Bell Awakens Guard

I was working security at an old scrapyard about a year or so ago. It was the grave yard shift and I hadn't had much sleep the day before because of a sinus cold. It was about 2330 hrs and I must have dozed off, something I had never done before. Then your show came on and the excitement I always felt at the start of your show was just enough to bring me out of my little nap. Luckilly for me you woke me up just in time because just as I opened my eyes I saw a movement of shadow out of the corner of my eye. I was sitting inside my patrol vehicle so I flashed my spot light to the area I saw the movement and saw 2 men trying to pry open the gate of the storage area where the more valuable things were located. One of them had a gun the other had a crowbar. I jumped out of my vehicle and hid behind an old Ford Galaxy 500 just as I heard the shot. We had a standoff for about 5 minutes. They had a shotgun I had my service revolver. Then the police arrived and they surrendered. No telling what could have happened if they found me asleep before you woke me up.

Kick Butt

Kick Butt

Here's a little home page image I assembled from some of my art - Even if you don't use it I think Art and you will get a kick out of my reinvention of Uncle Sam - I call Him "Uncle Slam". I thought I'd share it with you and your viewers since we all know Art is a bit of Hawk and this image says something that you might want to say before you Art leaves the Air Waves and the Web.

Thanks,
